Welcome to the Clive New Big Band

The Clive New Big Band was formed 60 years ago by bandleader Clive New, a very talented Portsmouth-based musician who died in 2005.

As the band was already well established, rather than break it up the players decided to keep the band going in Clive's memory.

So now in 2011 the band, a standard 17-piece big band line-up has grown in stature and still packs a punch, which is guaranteed to get toes tapping with the much loved tunes everyone will recognise, know and want to dance to.

The band continues to perform regularly, is very popular and has a dedicated group of followers who just love listening and dancing.

The band will play almost anywhere (e.g NOT Iceland !) it is invited to play. Our "home" and regular venue is:

The British Legion Club
366 Brook Lane, Park Gate
Southampton, SO31 7DP.

at which we perform on the first Wednesday of every month from 8pm until 10:30pm.

Its free entry with club priced drinks. So if you want a value-for-money evening out and some fun come along and bring a friend or two.

This site has only just (25 May 2011) been launched and is still "in work". There will be more news about the band, so please check back - thanks !
